Here are a few simple rules for writing compiled by Colson Whitehead that I happened to come across. The article was too good not to share. Even if you don’t agree with every statement or rule, the author brings up some interesting points. I especially like his take on the “show, don’t tell” rule, which he lists as Rule No. 1, and simply revises it with “show and tell.”
