Welcome to the Bring Your Shorts blog. I am adding a blog alongside the main website and forum because I wanted a way to reach out to the online community of writers and readers (that would be you) and share my own thoughts on short stories and writing.
If you visit the main BYS website you will find that it is under construction. Bring Your Shorts is not managed by a publisher, company, or educational organization. It is an independent, on-the-side project of mine, and while it has been on the back burner I do plan to finish it eventually. While I am the only editor of the site, I hope to eventually add a few others to the BYS blog and forum team.
If you visit the forum you’ll find that registration is disabled. I was forced to take action against the rampant spammers publishing adult content and other advertisements on the forum. Eventually I will enable registration (sooner rather than later) if I receive positive feedback from the community to do so.
Do not be alarmed if you happen to come back and find the blog layout has changed. I plan to implement other features, which may or may not be visible at this time.
How often can you expect a new blog post? That depends. Right now I am working on designing a website for a client and have other priorities that — unfortunately — come before the BYS project. I have never blogged before, so bear with me if (for these first few months) I do not update the site as much as you’d wish.
In addition to writing my own posts, I will be sharing links from other blogs and websites that in some way relate to writing.
I will enable comments for the posts. Please be courteous to others when replying or commenting. Some of this info may appear on the blog’s About page, which at the time of writing this is blank.
In all, I hope this blog will be a positive experience for everyone involved.
Thank you for linking to my blog. My blog is designed to assist others who are running the same path that I am towards traditional publication.
As you note, I don’t link to other blogs per se. I am rethinking that part, and if I do decide to link to others, know that Bring Your Shorts will be one of the first to whom I link.
Again, thank you for the link.
You’re welcome. I’ll keep my eyes open in case you do decide to link this site to your blog.
